On January 20, participants of the Civil Society Advisory Panel of the Platform for Ensuring Gender Mainstreaming and Inclusion in Recovery summed up and developed a work plan for 2026.
The event brought together representatives of civil society, authorities, and the expert community to exchange information on changes in the recovery sector and discuss the role of civil society in implementing gender-sensitive and inclusive approaches.
The participants were welcomed by Kateryna Levchenko, Government Commissioner on Gender Equality Policy, Daria Popova, representative of the British Embassy in Ukraine, Natalia Karbowska, Director on Strategic Development of the Ukrainian Women’s Fund, Anna-Mariia Chaikovska, Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine. The speakers noted the importance of civil society participation in shaping recovery policies and their alignment with the European integration agenda and NAP 1325 “Women, Peace, Security.”
Among the tasks of the Advisory Panel for 2026 are advocacy for the inclusion of a gender component in regulatory acts in the field of recovery, advocacy for gender mainstreaming in international assistance projects and programs, and raising awareness among key stakeholders.
The event was held in framework of the project “Women. Peace. Security: Acting Together” is implemented by the Ukrainian Women’s Fund with financial support from the UK Government, provided through the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, supported by the Office of Vice-Prime Minister on European and Euro-Atlantic integration and the Apparatus of the Government Commissioner on Gender Equality Policy.
